Opening of the Antemoro Manuscript Heritage Meetings

A public and scholarly programme was opened in Manakara to highlight sora-be manuscripts and the knowledge systems linked to them.

Opening of the Antemoro Manuscript Heritage Meetings

A gathering dedicated to transmission

The Antemoro manuscript heritage meetings opened under the authority of the Kingdom of Antemoro in the presence of teachers, manuscript custodians, researchers and representatives of local youth.

The principal aim is twofold: to improve public understanding of the historical value of sora-be collections and to encourage concrete initiatives in safeguarding, careful digitisation and cultural mediation for wider audiences.

Workshops and exchanges

The programme includes several working formats:

  • presentations of collections preserved by families and transmission authorities;
  • workshops on material conservation conditions;
  • discussions on how to integrate this heritage into local educational pathways.

A lasting priority

The Kingdom of Antemoro recalls that manuscript preservation is not merely memorial in character. It also contributes to territorial recognition, civic esteem among younger generations and the structuring of useful partnerships with national cultural institutions.
